Saudi Red Crescent Authority

On 20 December 2009 the Saudi Red Crescent Authority air ambulance service was officially launched by
The Governor of Riyadh, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz. The ambitious program includes the establishment
in the next four years of a nationwide network of 600 First-Aid Emergency Centers.
A fleet of 28 helicopters and 6 medium-range aircraft will be acquired to provide EMS air transport.
Action Aviation from the United Kingdom will initially be operating a fleet of six MD Explorers
on behalf of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority out of Riyadh province, Saudi-Arabia.
The picture shows the first three MD Explorers in Saudi Air Ambulance livery, neatly lined-up at Thumamah.
